Despacito by Puerto Rican singer Luis Fonsi Luis Fonsi, who is a Puerto Rican singer Daddy Yankee became the song that was streamed the most in less than six months. The mix of reggaeton with pop music not only brought an interest to this genre but it also brought attention to Latin music as a whole. The Billboard Top 100 featured two songs which were Spanish generally, and four in 2016. However, during the heights of Despacito's fame in 2017 there were 19 mostly Spanish tracks which made it into the top 100. In 2020, it was 41. In the wake of Justin Bieber's dual remix Despacito (2017), a number of bilingual remixes Despacito (2017) popular artists began to collaborate with reggaeton performers including Drake and Bad Bunny on MIA (2018) as well as Madonna and Maluma in Medellin (2019). A few performers of reggaeton expressed their displeasure at the rise of popular music by 2020. However, a brand newly formed group called Rauw Alejandro, wanted to continue the evolution and development of reggaeton. He often used electronic dance as well as different forms.
